I have been teaching for 28 years. It has been a way of life and not just a job. Over the years I have taught Pre-School Handicapped, first, second, fourth, and fifth grades along with special education. I hold a professional teaching certificate being certified in Elementary and Special Education. I have earned a B.A. in English, B.A. in Education, and a Master's in Elementary Education, along with a Teacher Consultant's Certification.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Michael and have a wonderful son, Dane. Dane went to Traverse City Area Public Schools and now lives in Colorado. He is a partner in his own fly shoppe, Crested Butte Angler. He is also a very talented guide/fisherman. I think of him as a "fish whisper". My husband and I have a terrific golden retriever, Blake. He loves to cuddle with his mom and play rough with his dad. We enjoy a lovely house on two acers tucked away in the woods.
Gardening, knitting, beading, and reading are the things I enjoy doing the most when I am not in school. Color, texture, and imagination are the attractions for me. I would love to get back into sewing and would love to try my hand at stained glass and pottery. Those things will have to wait for retirement.
